Can The Liberal Party Change How Canadians Use Cannabis

Mark Gobuty’s company, The Peace Naturals Project is one of the first commercial producers of medical marijuana to be approved by Health Canada. Starting April 1st, Canada seems to be trying to get more restrictive in that marijuana users will have to buy their cannabis from a list of approved suppliers. The question I am asking is ‘How does one get to be an approved supplier’?

There are legitimate concerns. The CBC News recently reported that;

Gignac’s supplier is a designated grower, but his wife, who also uses the herb to ease the pain from arthritis, knee and hip replacements, grows her own plants. He estimates she pays about five cents per gram for her medication.

He said he and other members from the volunteer-run Medicinal Cannabis Patients’ Alliance of Canada, some of whom are unable to work due to their conditions, will not be able to afford market prices.

As usual the government wants to get in on the act and thinks they know what is best for everyone! Is privatization the way to go? I do not know but I do not that people do not want to suffer and they also do not want to pay the high prices that would come with privatizing the cannabis seed industry and limiting the growing regulations.
